Cooperative Agreement Regarding the Computer Science Program at NHCC

and the Computer Information Systems Major at Metro State

 

This agreement has been entered into by North Hennepin Community College and Metropolitan State University for the benefit of students and prospective students at the two institutions. The purpose of the agreement is to ensure programs of high academic quality, to encourage student achievement, and to facilitate the transfer of course credits and a smooth transition from one related program to the other.

Program Articulation

The following North Hennepin Community College courses may be used to partially fulfill the requirements of the Metropolitan State University Computer Information Systems degree plan as shown:

Up to 6 credits of elective course work in the major

 

Students who complete the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum at North Hennepin Community College will fulfill Metropolitan State University’s 40-semester-credit lower-division general education requirement. Students who do not complete the entire transfer curriculum may apply North Hennepin Community College’s general education courses towards Metropolitan State University’s general education requirements. Other North Hennepin Community College classes may also count toward Metropolitan State University’s total credit requirements.

Duration of Agreement

This agreement becomes effective beginning in the fall semester of 1998 and remains in effect until terminated by either party. It may be terminated or amended for succeeding academic years by either institution on or before June 30 of each year.

 

Persons Responsible/Evaluation

The Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Metropolitan State University and the Dean of Dean of Business and Technology Programs at North Hennepin Community College will be responsible for implementing this articulation agreement. Each institution will conduct an outcomes assessment, and the people responsible will meet regularly to review the agreements.
