It takes more than just a pink stock to fit a rifle for a lady
Savage Lady Hunter with 2.5-10x Nightforce scope. The rifle is very light, and its hardwood stock has greater than usual comb height.
My hunting rifle and Katyn forest.
I own many rifles, but I only hunt with one of them. Feinstein’s latest effort to disarm Americans would ban it. It would ban that entire shape of rifle (bullpup) as well as that entire category (semi-auto with a box … Continue reading

Bringing Down the Bacon
Buck, Dwayne and Weston (not pictured), along with their dogs arranged the meeting. They guide hunts in Florida and Tennessee and may be reached at 321-960-4287. I ended up running about 500 yards after the dogs to catch up with … Continue reading

The mis-directed fetish of marksmanship.
I am a great fan of armed and trained civilians. But I’d like to point out that the “hundreds of thousands of deer hunters” are no military snipers and do not overmatch regular infantry. A very well trained rifleman with … Continue reading

And speaking of A.A.Milne — does anyone know why all the texts of “Winnie the Pooh” are gone from the Internet all of a sudden?

Combination guns
How practical are over and under rifle/shotgun combinations for hunting in the US? I am looking at the older 410/22 and newer 308/12ga or 223/20ga combos. Do game laws ever conflict with the ability to have shot and bullets available … Continue reading
Riots vs. pogroms
I hear quite a few worried comments about the possibility of civil unrest in the US. Looking at the precedents, I see three directions it could take: riots, pogroms and freelance criminal activity. The latter, individually perpetrated crime, is what … Continue reading

Keltec KSG, a fine hunting shotgun.
Clarification, a hunting shotgun for dangerous game. A wild boar might kill you, but only zombies can turn you undead with one bite. As an additional plus, the gun can be carried easily with one hand. The other arm would … Continue reading

A scope for a deer rifle
Don’s Winchester 70 in .270 gets just under 1MOA with his handloads. It seemed appropriate to top it with a better scope than the scary optical contraption it had originally. Now Bambi, Bambi’s mom and all other relatives are in … Continue reading

Lightweight Game Getter
A friend brought his 22/45 over, so I took photos of it. Paclite | 22SGB The point of this conversion is to save weight for backpacking and to provide threads for a sound suppressor.

KSG = Kills Serious Game?
Now that KSG can handle 2.75″ and 3″ shells, it is even more versatile for dangerous game hunting. Too small for most African dangerous game, it’s quite sufficient for almost anything in North America, especially with the right ammunition.
