American Tactical imports TAC SX2 shotgun. They offer it as a set with two barrels, a 28″ tube with chokes for bird hunting and an 18.5″ cylinder bore for in-house disputes with unbidden guests.
In the near future, I will post a detailed review of this device. The first impression of fit, finish and control layouts is quite positive.
Do you know when you will post this review? I saw one of these 2 barrel combo guns for a good price. I just don’t know enough about them. I looked for reviews and could only find a few. I would like more opinions before I spend the money
If I was American and living in a budget (meaning I had no money which I don’t but I’m not American so it won’t work), I’d get one 12ga with this particular set of barrels –or a short rifled one for slugs, a handgun and a good .22 airgun. Later you can add a .22 rifle and other odds and ends. This would keep you safe and fed in times of uncertainty…
Nice looking self-loader. I’d be interested in whether you have to make adjustments to fire light 2¾ target loads vs 3″ buckshot loads. Also whether or not there is a magazine extension for it. Do you know if they have a 20-gauge version available too?
Turkish knockoffs, heat treat can be suspect, aftermarket support is non existent, parts and accessories availability tends to be minimal to non existent.
That being said, they are decent entry level guns if you are happy with them as they are. If you want to modify anything be prepared to do custom fabrication. Yes, sometimes you can modify parts meant for mainstream firearms, but even that will take a fair amount of fitting and effort.
In other words, if you want something cheap that goes bang most of the time and do not want to modify it these will work well. OTOH, if you want to alter anything you’re better off buying a more mainstream firearm.
