Those made the rounds last year I think. Its a kit from Black Aces. Pretty cool idea, but it costs $480, thats as much as a pretty good shotgun or a good day of instruction.

Really really cool kit and a great idea, but it doesn’t seem cost effective.

The sample shown did not function at all. I don’t think the dimensions of the receiver and the replacement parts matched very closely.

I have a Mossberg 500 with the same butt stock/pistol grip as that one. Even before I saw the price and reliability comments I didn’t think I would want to convert mine. I have it in the bedroom for home defense along with my and my wife’s pistols. My concern would be the magazine getting in the way while using cover. If I need more than the tube magazine in the shotgun holds along with even one of the handguns something Really bad is going on and I would want the AR or one of the AKs.

It’s best feature seems to be the ability to give hoplophobes heart palpitations.

It looks SO scary! What with the handle thingy & all!!! & why would ANYONE want to shoot more than one nasty bullet at a time??! Its just not needed, it MUST be outlawed! & worst of all . . . . . . the scariest thing is . . . . . it’s black! (Where oh where oh where is the ATF???)
BTW, was at a gun show this past weekend; one of the tables had white painted Taurus PT 22’s. Why, I didn’t even cry when I saw it!

For the price of the conversion kit + a magazine, you could buy a brand-spanking-new Saiga-12, and it would actually be semi-auto without all the extra weight of the magazine tube and pump.

The Russian company Baikal had a handy pump that took mags. Buddy of mine has one, works very well, good rugged Russki stuff. The only thing questionable for me was my forearm brushed up against the mag when jacking the slide. Not a big deal. But it felt disconcerting at first. Had a smooth action, natural pointer. I only ever seen that one. My friend picked it up for $375 at a gun show.

It was on Guns and Ammo TV. The conversion kit is a receiver and magazine. So you have to go through and FFL just to get the conversion kit.
