Linoge from Walls of the City brought this shotgun last month. It was a lot of fun.

Nice to see another wheelgunner. Looks like a Charter Arms perhaps?
Smith and Wesson 686 SSR.
Drool. I run my 2.5″ 66-3 in IDPA quite a bit.
Recently decided I can reload it faster than my 28-2.
That grin at the end was perfect
No one – and I do mean no one – has managed to shoot that gun and not smile at the end of it
.
Though Oleg’s smile was more strained than most

Looks like a semi-auto version of Abomination…
Bah. No Browncoat you are…
First, the grin was priceless. Second, I think that’s the first time I’ve ever heard a real firearm sound like they do in movies. Third, I’ve never really wanted a SBS before now.
Coincidentally, I can point you in the direction of some folks who can hook you up with one…
Ummm…question here. Same question as I pose about the Judge series of shotgun/revolvers: how much energy do you lose with a short barrel? All my readings tell me that shotgun ammo is designed to accelerate to max speed in 24″. There must be some loss as the barrel gets shorter. How much?
As I recall, you asked this over at Uncle’s, and as I recall, I posted something like this: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_17/328585_Short_barrel_shotgun_muzzle_velocity_.html
The summation? You might lose some energy, but not enough to matter. This thing is not designed for anything beyond conversational-distance engagements.
