   It’s good at telling a story, but it could really use links or other citations for the statistics used. The article won’t hold up to criticism without a lot of work from its readers, but given that he’s already done the legwork, all it takes is a tiny bit more work by the author to remedy this.

   It’s a big boost for credibility and thus effectiveness of the message, and it helps those interested in learning more to dig in and find the truth for themselves. People against guns may find information contradicting their stance, and those for guns will have more to work with the next time a discussion comes up.
